IDC-companies

The foundation of an IDC-company is engaged executives, representatives from the union, locally interested parties - in other words, people who are willing to invest in industrial development in their own region. These people know their region, they know what opportunities and what needs there are. They have daily contact with the reality where the growth is created. This driving force from "below" is a requirement for a well functioning and a profit-aimed IDC-company. Every regional IDC-company has its own independent unit with joint-stock company as a legal form. In order to be qualified to be part of the national IDC-network, the IDC-company has to fulfill a number of quality requirements that, among other things, contain owner structure, activity, regional co-operation and competence. To be part of the network involves access to methods and commissions in common, as well as usage of trademarks in common.

The IDC-companies together own the service and marketing company IDC Sweden Ltd (IUC Sverige AB). This company manages the common trademarks, secures and develops existing and new tools and methods together with the partners and holds together and contracts national as well as international commissions.
In every IDC-company, there is a strong, common value in being able to complement the development resources that companies in the region themselves lack, and to be able to focus on industrial growth through strategic development that combines many different sources of competence and activities such as product renewal, process development, new technique, market incentives and competence development.

An IDC-company:

  • identifies regional companies' needs
  • carries out businesslike development projects together with companies
  • leads an activity on commercial grounds
  • has no share in the profits
  • reinvests profits of the activity in the company
